How many times have you prayed and asked God to do something, only to decide that He wasn’t moving fast enough? Ever tried to answer your own prayer?

In  the Book of Genesis, when God told Abraham and Sarah that they would have a child, He didn’t provide a timeframe. All he needed was for them to have patience and believe that He would keep His promise to them. Sarah had another idea. After 10 years, Sarah decided that they had waited long enough.

Listen, God can, and will, fulfill every promise He’s made to you. He can answer every prayer you’ve prayed in alignment with His will. There is a part you need to play in the process and it’s very simple: Get Out of the Way!

That’s what Sarah should have done but, instead, she devised a plan for Abraham to sleep with her maidservant Haggar so that they could conceive sooner than later. Anytime you begin taking on God’s role to fulfill His promise, or answer your prayers your own way, you’re asking for trouble. That’s exactly what Sarah and Abraham got, trouble.

I won’t go into all the details here but, although Haggar gave birth to a son, her son wasn’t the child God had promised because he wasn’t conceived in the manner God had said.

Then, 25 years after the promise was made, God kept His word. If you want to receive the fulfillment of the promise God has made to you, listen carefully. The best of what God has for you will come to you, God’s way.  All you have to do is: Get Out of the Way!
