If you have children or grandchildren attending school, any level of school, listen up. Whether they are going to kindergarten or middle school, high school, college or graduate school…
Here are 5 things you should LifeSpeak and declare over your children, grandchildren and all the students in your life.
1. God protects them
Psalm 32:7 – You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble
The older our children get, the more abundantly clear this truth becomes: We can’t accompany our children everywhere they go, but God can… and He does.
2. God helps them choose their friends
Proverbs 12:26 – The righteous choose their friends carefully
Real friends are not randomly collected, they are curated – chosen carefully, over time and vetted through situations and circumstances. Declare that God helps your children with the process of choosing friends, so, the right ones will stay and the wrong one’s can’t.
3. God causes them to excel in their studies
Daniel 1:20 – In every matter of wisdom and understanding… he found them ten times better than all … in his whole kingdom.
God will give your children accelerated knowledge. He will give them wisdom regarding what to study, how to study and strategies to maximize the implementation of what they’ve learned. Remember, they have the mind of Christ. (For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. –I Corinthians 2:6)
4. God gives them favor
Psalm 5:12 – Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Don’t underestimate the power of favor. My children have experienced God’s favor with school bus drivers, teachers, professors, administrators and even academic boards. Guess what? God came through, every time. He can provide your children with that “we-don’t-normally-do-this-but-we’ll-make-an- exception” kind of favor. Believe me, I know, firsthand.
5. God guides their steps
Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Trust and believe that God will guide your child to those who will reinforce their faith, strengthen their values and promote alignment with their purpose and His plan for their lives.
Now, based on these verses, you can boldly make this LifeSpeaking Declaration:
Thank You, Lord, for protecting my children and making sure that their every relationship is established with care. You have given them uncommon understanding, wisdom and academic excellence. They are surrounded by Your favor as You light their path with the lamp of your word. They are Yours and Your blessing empowers them to prosper in every area of their lives. In Jesus Name, Amen
