A few days before Mother’s Day, my daughter and I entered a grocery store where there were fresh flowers right by the entrance. The assortment was so varied, bright and beautiful that we both stopped to take in the scene. Just seeing them made us feel happy. So, my daughter asked me if I wanted her to buy me some flowers. I thought, So sweet, but Mother’s Day is only a few days away. So, I responded with a smile, “No. Mother’s Day is coming up, so I’ll just get some in a couple days, anyway.” Then, she said something that I’ve always taught her and her siblings: “He is an “AND” God, right, Mom? You can have flowers today AND for Mother’s Day.”

READ: THE GOOD, GOOD FATHER

That’s My Girl!  She reminded me that, even in the “little things” God is an AND God. Are you trying to make a choice, between two good things that God never asked you to make? When it comes to the goodness of God, He doesn’t make us choose. The word says, “according to your faith be it unto you.” –Matthew 15:38

So, before you settle for just one good thing, remember this:

  • Psalm 23:6 doesn’t say Goodness OR Mercy will follow you.
  • I Corinthians 1:3 doesn’t say Grace OR Peace be unto you.
  • Deuteronomy 28:3-5 doesn’t say you’ll be blessed in the City OR in the Field.
  • Psalm 34:8 doesn’t say Taste OR See that the Lord is good!

No! No! No! God is The God of AND!

So, we can have Goodness AND Mercy following us all the days of our lives!
We can have Grace AND Peace to come upon our lives!
We can be blessed in the City AND IN THE FIELD!
We can TASTE AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD!!

I don’t know what multiple choice of good things you’re facing today, but you can have both and all of them! Why? Because God is THE GOD OF “AND”! BTW, I did get the flowers, that day . . . AND 4 dozen roses for Mother’s Day, too.

Keep the Faith, LifeSpeakers!
