For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21 NIV)
My mother in law passed away, recently. She’s been in my life for more than 4 decades. She and my mother were friends before me and my husband even knew each other.
Whatta Lady! Beautiful! Strong! Caring! Resilient! God-honoring…. I could go on for days but, the thing that stands out most about her is this: You were never going to have a conversation with her during which she neglected to tell you about the goodness of God. Never.
And during this time in our family, I’ve been so (as my mother in law would have said) “Godly proud” that instead of focusing on our loss (cause boy oh boy will we miss her) we’re more excited about her gain. That’s the reason I have JOY, this morning. I have joy because Death never gets the final word in the life of a believer. The grave can hold the body but can’t contain the spirit. The departure from earthly living is just the transportation to eternal glory. Oh, the rest that she deserves. I love you, Mom. (I Corinthians 15:55 KJV)
Happy Monday Morning — and ALL WEEK — Joy, Everyone.
