I know this will sound odd but, for some reason, I kept hearing the theme song to the original “Ghostbusters” movie, this morning. Funny, right? So, I decided to look up the lyrics. Here’s a portion of what they are:

If there’s something strange in your neighborhood
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
If there’s something weird and it don’t look good
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!
I ain’t ‘fraid of no ghost
Well, in these unprecedented times, there are a lot of strange things going on in neighborhoods across the country. There are seemingly, a lot of weird things happening, that “don’t look good.” These are current times but the question remains the same: Who You Gonna Call? Same question, but the answer is different. See, when there are signs of trouble, we don’t call the Ghostbusters.
We’re calling on the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. We’re calling on the name that’s above every name. We’re calling on the One Who helped David kill a giant. We’re calling on the One Who rescued 3 young boys from a fiery furnace because they chose to worship the Lord instead of worshipping a king. We’re calling on the One Who kept Joseph from being bitter even after being sold into slavery, falsely accused and forgotten, but still held on to his dream. These men were LifeSpeakers and, you don’t need Ghostbusters when you know the power of your faith-filled words. How did LifeSpeaking impact their situations?
David was a LifeSpeaker!
He told Goliath how God was going to empower him to kill the “uncircumcised Philistine” that had been mocking God’s people. I Samuel 17:26
The Three Hebrew Boys – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were LifeSpeakers!
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.[c] 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18
Joseph was a LifeSpeaker!
After everything he endured, because of his brother’s jealously, not only did Joseph save their lives, but he declared to his brothers, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. Genesis 50:20So, no. When real trouble comes, and it will, we’re not calling the Ghostbusters. Instead, we’re calling on the name of the Lord because it’s a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10) We’re declaring the victory in the face of adversity. We are calling on the solution in face of the problem. We’re ain’t afraid of no ghost, no trouble, no adversity or anything else the enemy uses to intimidate us. We call those things that be not as though they were… until they are! We are LifeSpeakers! We know the power of our words, the force of our faith and the faithfulness of our God! WE are LifeSpeakers! And that’s what LifeSpeakers, DO!
