How many times have you used the phrase “But God”? My answer: More times than I can count. For example: We were almost in a car accident, But God!
We were in an accident that could have been fatal… But God!
They said I would be laid off…But God allowed me to get promoted instead!
They said my child had a learning disability, But God helped her graduate with honors!
What’s your “But God” testimony?
When I think about all the instances where, I didn’t get the terrible consequence that I did deserve, (that’s called “mercy,” by the way), I am so grateful!
But it doesn’t stop there. Then, I think about all the times I received goodness, blessings, favor, etc., for which I did not qualify (that’s called grace, by the way), it’s easy to fill my mouth with praise and raise my hands in worship.
“But God” provides 5 powerful reminders that …
1. God is committed to what it says in Isaiah 54:17
2. Faith is stronger than fear
3. Truth of God’s word is more powerful than the lies of your situation
4. Trusting in god’s word (which you can’t see) is how you overcome the circumstances you can see
5. God’s promises are more powerful that Satan’s plans
So, the next time, you experience an adversity or the enemy tries to block the path to your blessings remember the power of these two words: BUT GOD!
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26

EIGHT (8) POWERFUL “BUT GOD” VERSES TO REMEMBER
1. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able . . . 1 Corinthians 10:13
2. When they had carried out all that was written about him, they took him down from the cross and laid him in a tomb. But God raised him from the dead . . . Acts 13:29-30
3. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
4. You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. Genesis 50:20
5. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. Acts 3:15
6. Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles. Acts 7:9-10
7. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
8. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-7
