The curtain is closing on 2025. As we prepare to say Goodbye, most of us are looking back at all the things we encountered this year— the good, the not-so-good and the down-right “Help me Lord”, moments. Personally, I learned to trust God in ways that really stretched me, this year.
Everyone wants to have strong faith but, the reality is, faith grows when we’re faced with adversity. See, I learned things in the storm that a sunny day couldn’t teach me. Why? Because adversity demands that you dig deep and remember who you are in Christ.
Adversity reminds you that the word of God holds the key to your way out. Tests and trials are no match for the prayer, praise and proclaiming the promises of God. While no one volunteers to face challenges, we know that they drive us to our knees, they draw us to God’s word and they force us to focus on the things that really matter.
Adversity, tests, challenges… these are the weights that our faith must encounter to grow and develop. How many people will join a gym or start a fitness routine this January only to fizzle out by March? Everyone wants a muscular body, but few are willing to consistently spend hours lifting weights required to build those muscles.
So, as we’re just days away from a new year, here are a few questions for you to consider:
What was your biggest test in 2025?
What did God do for you in 2025 that only He could have done?
Did 2025 test your trust in God? If yes, in what ways?
Based on what you faced in 2025, will you show up differently in 2026? How?
I believe the challenges we faced in 2025, served to strengthen our faith, provide a testimony of the goodness of God and prepare us for the blessings of 2026. It’s like what Joseph said, all those years later, to the brothers who betrayed him: “…you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good…” Genesis 50:20.
Keep the Faith, LifeSpeakers!
Love,
Wilma
